Abstract
The purpose of this research is to describe and analyze the structural conflicts in the library sphere and the place of science promotion in Iran's public libraries. Our hypothesis is that public libraries face many obstacles in the process of promoting science due to sociological reasons. In this research, the first upstream documents related to the position of public libraries in the promotion of science were examined in order to clarify what position the generalization of science has in Iran's library sphere. After tracking this goal, a more important question was raised regarding the main obstacles to the promotion of science in public libraries. According to the findings of this research, structural obstacles and issues such as "the absence of a fundamental strategy to solve structural problems and conflicts, failure to adopt an appropriate approach to implement the discourse of science promotion in the national media, violation of distributive justice in library services and The marginal position of public libraries" have seriously challenged the position of science promotion in Iran's public libraries.
