Abstract
The present study examined, through an interdisciplinary approach, the process of constructing a feminine identity of resistance in the Instagram narratives of a group of Tehran women during the Ramadan War (February 2026). The study was conducted within an interpretive paradigm, using a qualitative approach and thematic narrative analysis. After examining 120 posts from 40 public pages of a group of Tehran women active on Instagram, one narrative from each page was selected as the unit of analysis. The findings revealed five main themes: loss and disruption of the lived world; female agency and action; survival, collective memory, and identity reconsideration; solidarity and collective resilience; and self-reconstruction and value-based resistance. Women constructed a resistant identity through narratives of suffering, care, meaning-making, preservation of collective memory, social participation, and value commitment. Furthermore, care, resilience, and agency were distinguished from resistance, and only actions carrying resistant meanings and supported by narrative evidence were interpreted within the framework of everyday resistance. By integrating narrative identity, female agency, and everyday resistance, this study explains the relationship among digital narrative, identity, and resistance and contributes to the literature on media, women’s studies, and war in Iran.
