Sociological study of the relationship between the amount and type of use of virtual social networks and lifestyle of citizens of Tehran

Abstract
In contemporary times, all societies have experienced varying degrees of emergence and by the advancement of communications, communities have undergone many changes, and various dimensions of lifestyle have been exposed by these changes, that the Iranian society has been affected by these changes. In the present article, the relationship between the amount and type of use of virtual social networks and lifestyle of citizens has been studied. This study was conducted using a researcher-made questionnaire.
The statistical population of the study consisted of all 15-44 years old citizens of Tehran city, Among which, 384 person were selected by using the Cochran formula by multi-stage cluster sampling. The statistical methods research was Pearson test and regression. The results of the research indicate that there is a positive and significant relationship between the variable of virtual social networks and lifestyle that its dimensions including cultural consumption, body management, leisure activities and shopping patterns. Also, the results of multiple regression analysis and path analysis showed that all independent variables of the research had a significant effect on lifestyle, Altogether, 42% of lifestyle changes in citizens can be explained by the amount of use of virtual social networks.
