Abstract

Traditionally, humanists and social scientists believe that religion enforces the application of some stringent practices on the body. It is argued that the body must be controlled by the believer by applying the religious practices and those of the rituals. In order to arrive at an accurate perspective on this subject we need to investigate the relation between religion and the body in different religions. This article probes the relation between the body and religion to see what position the body takes in different religions such as Islam and Christianity. For responding to this question, the article embarks on a comparative study concerning the position of the body in religions.
