Abstract

The mosques have been the first worship and society place in the Muslim community. Since physical space roots in culture of each society. Therefore, the architecture of mosques in each culture reflects the cultural symbols of that society, which in addition to solving physical challenges and adopting to context in all geographical location should present a form with specific and continued identity, until able to provide the index of formal identity in the mosques to audience. But, by changing cultural pattern due to the modernization of societies, the continuity of physical identity in contemporary mosques have been broken. This research with cultural study approach and descriptive-analytical method is seek to response to question that What is the relationship of mosque as a cultural product with physical symbols and signs in the context of Iranian culture? And How should it be the Architecture of Iranian mosques that have architectural symbols in their body? The results of research show that Common elements are formed in the minds of the audience through the process of representing cultural symbols, Until the same actions are obtained from them.
