Abstract

This study attempts to classify cultural forms of Iranian intellectuals’ perspectives and to define and explain changes among these forms. Its path is a documentary method with qualitative content analysis of the works of recent four decades. The conceptual framework is built on the threefold typology of intellectuals’ culture i. e. aboriginaloriented, transcendental, and communicative culture. Findings show there are diverse cultural forms among Iranian intellectuals and the trend has a tendency towards communicative cultural form. This change can be explained in terms of the effects of social movements and new technologies of communications. By way of these agency and structural effects, now a new pattern of intellectuals’ culture is shaping that is based on dialogical, synthetic and interactive characteristics.
