Abstract

This Paper focuses on the role of social status in life satisfaction. According to theoretical bases, group and people's social position which has formed from economical and social status, ability of control of life, life associations and lifestyle, can be considered as one of the explanatory of life satisfaction. Thus, socioeconomic status and selective lifestyle, is connected to life satisfaction via mechanisms such as people's life associations and control of life. The consequences of such process in actor's social life will be life satisfaction.
The experimental study has used survey method to considering mechanisms in relations between social position and life satisfaction and the needed information have obtained from questioners and interviewing with 390 people who are over 18 years old. The results have shown, although the relation between social positions and life satisfaction is in significant level in sample population, but people's social position increase their control of life via satisfied social relations and associations and it forms their selective life style and in the end, their life satisfaction.
